O epis�dio foi fant�stico, Angelus faz as coisas que est�o escondidas aparecerem, ele provoca e o resultado s�o verdades aparecendo por todos os lados... isso costumava ser uma qualidade da Cordy. Acho que � isso que tem me feito falta nela.
David Boreanaz fica at� mais bonito fazendo o papel do misterioso Angelus, n�o �?
E como todos os personagens enfatizaram desde que se falou em traz�-lo de volta, ele � mais inteligente, sabio e interessante do que Angel...
Sabe de uma coisa? Eu voto para Angelus ficar pra sempre!

Eu j� falei e vou falar de novo: Eu adoro os artigos, na verdade, revis�es que o Hunter Maxim faz sobre os epis�dios de Buffy.
Ele escreve t�o certo, nos conduz com uma facilidade que at� me impressiona.

A Agatha_Angel perguntou: Anne esse blogger e o site s�o 10... Fiqueisabendo que talvez pela revista SFN, que talvez seja a �ltima temporada de Angel tb, vc poderia esclarecer alguma coisa sobre esse fato?
Anne repondendo: Agatha existe uma possibilidade de Angel acabar sim, pois a The Wb, canal americano que transmite Angel nos USA, ainda n�o confirmou se vai querer adquirir a 5 temporada de Angel.
Mas n�o h� motivos para se preocupar com isso, pois ainda � cedo. A emissoras americanos costumam divulgar estas not�cias em Abril ou Maio.. at� l� temos de manter os dedos cruzados.
Caso hajam not�cias a respeito agente posta por aqui.. fique de olho!

Se voc� ainda n�o assistiu esses epis�dios da quarta temporada de ANGEL e n�o est� nem um pouco afim de estragar a GRANDE surpresa e o suspense deles... PARE DE LER AGORA.
Mas se voc� j� assistiu ou nao se importa em ler spoilers, v� em frente.
Eu deixei para assistir os 3 de uma vez s� porque sabia que seriam eletrizantes e que um completaria o outro. Dito e feito.
Habeas Corpses � um festival de sangue, corpos e luta aonde Angel prova mais uma vez que acima de tudo ama o filho.
Long Day's Journey serve para quebrar um pouco a cabe�a da gente, e para mostrar para Cordy como as pessoas se sentem quando s�o 'tra�das'.
Awakening � um sonho.. ou um pesadelo. Depende do ponto de vista, mas sem d�vida alguma � o melhor dos tr�s epis�dios.
Vamos aos fatos e as minhas 'humildes' opini�es:
1 - Pela amostra que tivemos de Cordy e Angel eu pe�o PELOAMORDEDEUS n�o deixem os dois ficarem juntos. N�o por causa da Buffy, mas simplesmente porque n�o tem qu�mica. N�o tocam buzinas e nem estouram fogos de artif�cio. E porque essa nova Cordy � chata pra caralho.
2 - Acabei de me tornar a mais nova groupie do Connor. Ele � o adolescente mais sincero que eu j� conheci. Pisou no calo dele toma na cara. Valente, impetuoso, um Angel melhorado.
3 - Lilah Morgan assumiu mesmo o papel de vil�, mas nem por isso deixou de mostrar que tamb�m pode se apaixonar, pois a mocinha est� caida pelo nosso novo Wesley. Pena que o mocinho tenha colocado um ponto final no breve romance deles. Quase recuperada ela se senta em sua mesa da Wolfran & Hart e d� ordens a torto e a direito para quase morrer nas m�o do Big Bad, e acabar sendo salva pelo mesmo cara que tinha acabado de dispens�-la. Piegas... mas rom�ntico. Fazer o que?
4 - O melhor de tudo? Gavin chato virou um zumbi que acabou encontrando o seu fim nas m�o de Gunn.
5 - Por uma fra��o de segundos eu achei que aquela zumbizada toda ia devorar o Gunn e me fazer feliz. Agora eu mudei de id�ia.. matem a Cordelia chata por favor! Devolvam a Cordy de Sunnydale ou mesmo da primeira temporada de Angel... ela era muito mais interessante do que a Santa Cordy.
6 - Ainda sobre Lilah... interessante a coloca��o dela e ao Wesley sobre o bem e o mal. Ela disse que o que existe mesmo � o preto e o branco, e que quando voc� ultrapassa a linha tudo fica cinza, e n�o importa a quantidade de tinta branca que voc� coloque, pois tudo que voc� vai conseguir � cinza. E ela n�o v� a menininha do Texas usando cinza... na verdade ela acha que Fred prefere perto. Yay Lilah! Ponto pra voc�.
7 - A Fred parece que est� olhando para o Wes de um modo diferente. Pode ser coisa da minha cabe�a mas acho que o Gunn vai dan�ar mais dia menos dia. Ah.. manda ele passear uns dias em Sunnydale vai.
8 - Awakening foi o master-piece dos �ltimos tr�s epis�dios. Nada nele indicava sonho ou alucina��o como um meio de trazer Angelus de volta. At� o �ltimo momento eu estava tendo convuls�es de terror e nojo ao ver a mela��o entre Cordy e Angel, e ao mesmo tempo me indagando como poderia ter sido t�o f�cil matar o Big Bad.. ou mesmo se o Big Bad n�o seria o Angelus ao inv�s daquele dem�nio. Confesso que quando Angel e Connor estavam conversando logo ap�s matarem o big bad eu esperava que o Angelus desse sua risadinha e atacasse o Connor. Esperei a mesma coisa quando Angel e Cordy estavam se beijando momentos antes de (yac!!!) irem para a cama. Mas nunca esperei que a coisa fosse acontecer do jeito que aconteceu. E isso � bom. Quando uma s�rie que vemos h� muito tempo ainda nos surpreende mostra que a f�rmula n�o est� gasta.
9 - Gwen... a menina tinha que ter ficado por perto... ela sim � um par decente pro Angel. N�o tem aquele hist�rico todo de Sunnydale... � bonita, interessante e interessada. E nada nada chata.
10 - Oh... como eu amo o Lorne! Todas as tiradas mais engra�adas vem sempre dele. Ainda bem que o Andy Hallet vai ser agora parte integrante do elenco.
11 - Long Day's Journey foi dedicado a mem�ria do Glenn Quin. Achei isso muito delicado da parte de Joss.
12 - O suspiro/sussuro de Angel em Awakening
Na cama, com Cordy Angel sussurra o nome de Buffy.. Estou louca?
Olha, na primeira vez que eu ouvi achei mesmo que ele tinha sussurado BUFFY, mas fiquei t�o surpresa com o final que me esqueci... agora fui l�, voltei, ou vi umas 7 vezes... e tenho certeza de que n�o t� surda. Ele sussurra, suspira Buffy. E minhas fichas ficam na seguinte hipotese:
Por mais que Angel queira dormir com a Cordy e saiba que isso PODE causar a perda de sua alma, a �nica certeza que ele tem MESMO � que com a Buffy a felicidade foi REAL E PURA. E no fundo da mente dele, tocada pelo Shaman - a lembran�a de Buffy deve ser a �nica realmente capaz de faz�-lo se abandonar e deixar a alma se perder.
Parei de escrever... fui l� de novo.. repeti a cena pela 8a vez... e se vc olhar para os l�bios dele � mesmo BUFFY que ele fala. Ent�o continuo apostando minhas fichas no que escrevi acima. Tudo pode acontecer agora que as redes de tv est�o cogitando o fim de Buffy e os crossovers das s�ries. E lembrem-se... Cordy ao saber que foi a lembran�a da noite de amor com Buffy que trouxe a felicidade para Angel provavelmente vai se desiludir, se revoltar e largar ele...

Agora vamos as 'coincid�ncias' entre a 7a temporada de Buffy e a 4a de Angel
- um Big Bad realmente indestrut�vel.
- os dois Big Bad tem/tiveram liga��o com Angel
- From Beneath it devours � citado nas duas s�ries, mesmo que usando palavras diferentes.
- A cena de Angel incentivando a turma no sagu�o do Hotel ficou muito parecida com a cena de Buffy incentivando os Scoobies e as Slayers to be na casa dela em Bring On The Night.
- A preocupa��o de Buffy com Spike � bem parecida com a preocupa��o de Angel com Cordy.
Acho que � isso... algu�m quer acrescentar algo???

With little fan-fare, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was quietly dropped into the 1997 television schedule, in mid-season. According to Joss Whedon, the thirty-something creator of the show, it's premise was this: pluck that weary plot-line from the horror genre... you know the one... where the young beautiful blonde is being chased, stumbles, and eventually ends up in a dark alley where she's of course butchered. Well, Joss Whedon wanted to give it a twist. The young beautiful blonde is being chased, stumbles and eventually
ends up in a dark alley... where she turns around and kicks the monster's ass. The show's premise is given depth with it's mix of genres: gothic soap opera, super-hero cartoon, comedy and melodrama. Originally Buffy the Vampire Slayer was viewed as a show about teenagers for teenagers. But, now in it's 7th season, it explores, some of the big questions: what does it mean to be violent? Weak? Evil? Questions that have drawn adult viewers and academics as well. The show has generated thousands of web sites, hundreds of chat rooms, and at least four anthologies, with essay titles like: "Buffy as Gidget for the fin de siecle, " or "I'm Buffy... and You're History: A Post-Modern Politics of Buffy."
We are being taken on a complicated journey with this super-hero. Buffy doesn't always save the day. She can't even save her mother. She's not an untouchable sex object like Wonder Woman. She has sex and gets her heart crushed by her first love. She's not a one-dimensional hero like Superman.
Buffy gets depressed following her mother's death. Depressed for a long time. She withdaws from her friends. In a key episode, she is forced to sacrifice herself to save her sister. But the program is clever, in that it allows us to think, that although the sacrifice may look like an act of heroism, it could've been a suicide attempt. We are presented with the portrait of a super-hero who is damaged, flawed. A super-hero who is weak just like us. Perhaps that's why the program strikes such a chord. The internet abounds with thousands of web sites. Hundreds of them discuss the many moral debates the program raises: debates about contradiction. Can a
powerful person be emotionally vulnerable? Does badness come from the heart, or from deep in the soul?
MOC: So, Marty, looking at the psychological wiring under the boards, is Buffy really about, that, in life, there are more questions than answers.
That super-heroes are human, and that humans, of course can be super-heroes too? Or, do you have your own theory?
MN: Well, I have a theory, and it's something I've been working on all these years, and Joss may hate me for saying this, but I think it's an exploration of being exceptional. I mean the whole idea of being a super-hero is the idea that you are unlike other people, and people are drawn to that, but at the same time, it makes you the other�someone that may have trouble relating. It's inherantly a lonely thing, and I haven't said this to Joss, but I kind of think it's his life story. Because he's exceptionally brilliant, and he has abilities other people don't have. He can take the summer off and write a musical that's every bit as good as what major composers, who've dedicated their life, can come up with. He's just an amazingly smart, over-capable person. And he lives in a world where his
brain functions faster than most people's. And not that he can leap tall buildings, but the more I look at Buffy's struggle, I see it's a study of being exceptional.
MOC: Let's talk about Spike as a character, and why he's generated this moral debate about being redeemed.
MN: Well, the whole genesis of Spike, is that we just wanted a cool villain. He was introduced as part of a Sid and Nancy set, and then he just popped up as a character, and we wanted to bring him back. We weren't sure how he would function in the group because he was evil, and more or less as a functon of story-telling we wanted to make him less so, so he could be around the gang more. So, we had him tracked by the government, and a chip is put in his head, so he is unable to attack people. So for a long time he was good by default. He was still able to hurt demons, his chip didn't stop that, but he was fighting on the side of right because he still liked to kill things. But slowly you start to have moral questions. Is this a change in conditioning? Was the active fight for good, did that start to make him seek out good? And then he becomes attracted to Buffy. I've always joked around that he became attracted to Buffy because she could hit him the hardest, that he liked to be abused. Then we discovered that there was a real heart to that story-line, and they had a real chemistry together. So a lot of times people who see this as a grand design, an opera about good and
evil. It's just really a slowly evolving thing, and sometimes form follows function. And as we watched, eventually we found that Spike was a real romantic foil for Buffy. And also what we've seen is Buffy attracted to her own darkness. To her own aggression, to sex without love, to sex where love is really subdued, all of the things that she can't permit, because she is a hero.
MOC: One thing that struck me watching the show was whether it was teenagers or feminist historians, they were attracted to the idea of a calling, a higher purpose to Buffy's sense of mission. Does that surprise you?
MN: Oh gosh, no�there's two things. I somehow believe that's something everybody wishes they had. That everybody wishes they had such a strong sense of their destiny. Buffy, for all of her doubt, confusion, and masochistic impulses, for all of that, she knows what her job is. She knows what her purpose is, above all other. It's really interesting, but becoming a mom, I feel a kind of clarity in my life, more than anything else, I know what I have to do. I feel more settled. I have something precious to protect. I know what my first job is and also, there's a spiritual yearning in it.
MOC: I think you're right about that, tell me about that.
MN: Well, to me, Buffy just doesn't serve herself. I have a calling which is to be a writer, but that's pretty selfish. I mean, it brings me great joy, who knows if it brings better things into the world, but ultimately, it serves me. Buffy's calling is to serve mankind, and it connects her to a greater good, and I know I struggle to feel connected to something, and connected to something larger than our daily existence, and Buffy's plugged into it. And I think the idea of destiny and serving God in a way, and Joss, by the way, is a rabid atheist, but his work is full of yearning for belief. And I think the show speaks to people who also have that yearning. I mean,
the whole show in a way, the whole show ping pongs between the darkest night of the soul and this whole yearning for belief.
MOC: Do you think this is Joss Whedon's personal belief? That saving the world is an endless struggle, to do good?
MN: I think that he does feel like it's sort of a meaningless void, and what matters is the struggle to find the good. And the relationships you build with people while you struggle. And in some ways you'll never find it, but the quest and the questors, and the people that you find, who are not necessarily your family, are the only thing that lends the journey meaning. I think that is his major theme.
